Informative Program for Guides

During July 24 – 27, 2003, Turkish Friends, together with the Tour Guides' Association of Turkey (TUREB), organized a program, in order to meet the demand for expert guides on Catalhoyuk. Guides participating in the program had detailed training visits to Catalhoyuk and also to Sille, Klistra, Karaman, Taskale, Lystra, Derbe and “Binbir Klise.” Catalhoyuk Archeologists provided participating guides information on following subjects:

Nerissa Russell: The faunal remains
Ali Türkcan: The figurines and stamp seals
Ayfer Bartu: The communities of Çatalhöyük today

Ruth Tringham/Mira Stevanovic: The BACH excavations
Arek Marciniak: The Polish TP excavations
Nurcan Yalman: The pottery; and ethnoarchaeology
Meltem Agcabay: The botanical remains
Basak Boz: The human remains
